Ruffles and Stripes

Hey Everyone! Hump Day is approaching us! My mom commented on our different styles Saturday while we shopped at Dress Barn ( Sale!!!). She said that I wear items sometimes that cling to my body and she prefers the loose fit. While I appreciate the both fits, I am not ashamed of my body, my shape, or my skin. Why not accentuate the curves every now and again? I wanted to make the black midi bodycon skirt from Forever 21 work appropriate. This is the end product.
My body IS NOT an APOLOGY! I’m not sorry. You shouldn’t be either. Outfit Details will be posted below!

Ruffled Blouse- Catos- $10.99, Skirt- Forever 21+ $9.80
Cardigan- Dress Barn $15, Purse (Steve Madden)- Ross -$40 (originally $98.00)
For the longest time I struggled with my appearance. The women in my life were both light skinned, and I am dark. They both dealt with self esteem issues. I learned from them how to dislike myself. Learning to appreciate myself is still problematic for me but I am making progress on that journey. Life teaches us valuable lessons. I am not bashing them, just making a point. I want to teach my future children to find the beauty in themselves. By educating myself, and acknowledge harmful patterns, I can make a more positive future for my future children.
Until next time
