Wake Me Up When September Ends

Hey everyone! Wake up! September has ended. The first of the month has passed. October is here! Gosh, this year is really passing by quickly. I’ve been under the weather hence my brief hiatus. My tonsils were so swollen that they were close to completely closing my throat. My nose was running yet I was extremely congested. I had cold chills and heat sweats. Missed a day and a half of work.  I felt terrible. I’m still on the road to recovery but I feel better now.Yesterday I went to the ER. The doctor gave me a steroid so that the swelling in my tonsils would reduce quickly. Along with that, I was prescribed an antibiotic to fight my virus. Im not 100% but I’ve been cleared to return to work. I’m no longer contagious. Before my downtime, I took a trip to Lane Bryant so that I could spend my real women dollars. I had $75 worth of real women savings. Two items are on the top of my “must purchase” list- a leather jacket, and a nice coat. While at Lane I tried on a few items, one of which was a faux leather jacket.

Here are two faux leather jackets that I tried on. I really like the last one! Still, if I’m going to shell out $80+ for a jacket, I’d prefer it to be real leather.

The 6th & Lane line is out. I was hoping to try out the pieces but the stores in my area won’t be carrying the new line -eye roll-

There’s a $400 dollar leather jacket that I’m eyeing. Honey has to save her coins! If you all know of any other places that have affordable, quality, plus size jackets, please comment below.

Actually, I figured out that the zipper part was supposed to be in the front but I like it better in the back. This skirt was on sale for $39.99. I purchased this item.

This Isabel Toledo shirt dress was on sale for $49.99, originally $60+.

The lace at the bottom of this skirt! Love, I absolutely love! I can not wait to wear this! I definitely purchased this item. The fit was flattering but still work appropriate.

Both skirt can be worn during man ovcasions, work and happy hour wit. The girls. Also, I purchased a scrounged grey body con that had a lovely leather detailing. Plus it added va va boom to my little bum.  I’ll add pictures of it later.
Messages of the day- First,Dont live your life according to someone else’s. secondly, Misery loves company. Lastly, take care of your health. I’ve been stressed and not taking care of myself. Go to the doctor. Get checked regularly. Wash your hands. Watch out for people coughing and breathing on you.
Every time I eat, my mom comments on my weight. In particular, she rejoices over the fact that she weighs less than me. She’s gets some kind of gratification out of it. Time and time again, I let it slide. Rock want I want. Still, I look fabulous. Despite of constant judgement of my body, I still take her shopping with me when I go to stores that I think she might like. When we went to lane, she kept telling the sales associate that I weighed more than her, that I was bigger. She decided to try on the lace skirt in a size 22. It didn’t fit. she just knew that I couldn’t get it on. I tried it on, and damn it, that skirt hugged every curve. Perfection! My body is curvier than hers so pieces hit/fit me differently. Don’t be afraid to try items. Watch out for people who constantly point out your “flaws” (flaws to them). They are insecure. They are unhappy with themselves and want you to be unhappy. The spirit of jealousy is alive and rampant. Your so called enemies aren’t always the ones you need to worry about. Friends and family can be just as detrimental. That’s why you need to be confident. Find the beauty and worth in your own self! I’m overweight, but that doesn’t mean that I shouldnt love myself.
How have you handled situations with people who take out their misery or disdain with their lives/bodies etc. on you? Also, if you know of any places to get affordable, quality, leather jackets, drop a comment below!
Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
