Let’s sing this one together! Forever young, I want to be, forever young. You get the jist. Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well! My 23rd birthday is tomorrow! Thank God for allowing me to see another year. Millions didn’t make it but I was one of the ones who did! At 21, I didn’t think that birthdays would be anything other than a reminder that I’m growing old. As I await my 23rd of life, I can’t help but laugh at how foolish I was. Looking at some of the older women that I currently encounter and have encountered, my excitement for growing older can’t be contained. Hopefully with the acquisition of age, wisdom and knowledge will come. With each year, each experience, and every moment, I am inching closer and closer to becoming the woman who I desire to be. I see so many beautiful, confident, accomplished women of age. I can’t wait to be so comfortable with myself. I can’t wait to look back and see how far I’ve come! I want 40 year old me to look back and think, ” Damn, I made it!” I’m who I want to be, doing what I want to do, and around people who excite me.
To celebrate my birthday, I set out to find the perfect birthday outfit! Ross and Burlington were my first two destinations. While my goal was to slay, I didn’t what to waste my cash on the slay. Here’s what I tried on at Ross and Burlington
$14.99- 3x- wasn’t bad, just didn’t wow me. I didn’t like how the dress hugged my body- my curves were definitely accentuated

Too baggy

$9.99- 3x – too safe, I did enjoy the pattern

3x-$22.99- boring

2x- no 3x available to try on. $16.99- it was too small
I just wanted the shirts and shorts for a casual night out. I changed my mind of these items.
Since my efforts to be frugal were unsuccessful, my next stop was the mall.
I was highly disappointed with Charlotte Ruse plus this time around. Nothing caught my eye. The dresses in Torrid weren’t flirty enough for me. I wanted something classy yet sensual.
Then I stopped at Forever 21. I was able to try on a few things.
My heart fluttered when I saw this jumpsuit! It was cute but it exposed too much of my body insome areas. The legs were entirely too looooong! Petite Plus is my lane. The back was cute, but I have large breasts. Concealing my bra in the front, back, and sides would have been impossible. If this suit was a tad bit shorter, I would have purchased.
3x- approx. $30
Not worth talking about this bland piece. Maybe a girl with a smaller belly could have worked this dress.
Nope – most of forever 21’s plus was not kind to my petite, 22-24 frame
2x- I don’t think that a 3x could have saved me.
2x- a 3x would have been kind to me – clearance – $19.99
The concept is sexy, just not friendly to my petite frame
Also, I tried on this duster and shirt hoping that I could use them for other non- birthday related looks
My feelings towards the last two pieces are neutral so I left them in the store.
You win some, you lose some.
I found a cute dress at Ross a month ago. I think that I might wear it instead!
Also, remember to cherish moments like birthdays. I’ve have college and high school friends/ acquaintances die within the past few months. Young, vibrant lives, gone so soon. Spend time wtb the ones you love. There’s nothing worse tha wasting time. You can’t get time back!
Tune in tomorrow to see what I wore!
Until next time
-Nora
