Hey everyone! I know that it has been an awful long time since my last post. A few personal things occurred which resulted in my being without Internet. Unfortunately, the situation won’t be resolved until I move out of my parents home. I enjoy expressing myself in this space. Therefore, I’m going to go to the library or Starbucks two to three times a week so that I can continue to do what I love.
I told you all that I am dedicated!!!!!
Sunday I caught up with a close friend, Kristen, from high school. She invited me to brunch at a new restaurant in Hendersonville called The Egg and I. Eggs are everything! I like them boiled, scrambled, and fried! This place is a bit pricey but I’d go back again.
Kristen is getting married in January to her love, Nick. They’ve been together for ever! They are so good together. Talk about complimenting each other! Constantly, I pray that I’ll be blessed one day to experience the same complimentary, genuine, love.
She asked me to be a bridesmaid in the wedding! My heart was so full! Her considering me to be involved in their commitment to love is truly wonderful. I’m greatly appreciative of them for inviting me into their hearts!
After brunch, we hit The Streets of Indian Lake for a bit of “I’m a hard working women. I deserve to splurge sometimes” shopping. Lane Bryant is one of my favorite stores. Aside from my many advertisement bases critiques. I enjoy the styles. The fall pieces- bohemian/ Aztec coats, oversized sweaters, body con dresses, plus leather and fringed jackets are all hot!
We ventured to Charming Charlie’s after checking out New York and Company. Charming Charlie’s is the accessories HEAVEN! Everything is sectioned by color which makes finding items easier. Earlier in the summer, I purchased cute “grandpa” styles sunglasses. Also, I picked up a cute navy wristlet.
This time around, I wasted no time in the glasses section. Trying the shades on was funny because I work my prescription glasses. Kristen had to tell me how I looked in the pairs that I tried. Also,Kristen found a pair of sunnies that she liked!
Here’s what I tried on:
Can you guess which shades I bought?
I wore a green jumpsuit. I learned that sometimes you have to make something out of nothing. Sometimes you have to simply make “it” work.
I bought this jumpsuit at Rainbow in the Rivergate Mall for $15. The zipper broke on me but I really wanted the jumpsuit. Thankfully, the cashier gave me a discount because the zipper was poorly constructed. I was determined to make this piece work. Don’t tell people your flaws. They’ll never know. I received so many compliments on this jumpsuit when I wore it.
Also, I am not a name brand hog! I shop everywhere. I can make a $5 dress look like it cost $100. If I can paraphrase a quote from The Player’s Club, “Wear the piece, don’t let it wear you!”
Style is less about the piece and more about the person wearing it. You matter so much.
I’m pro- high bun. My bun touches the roof of my car. I have to adjust my seat and sit a certain way to maintain the bun.
I know that I’m not the only one! ( I’m singing that like Sam Smith!)
This fringe bag is a one of my fab finds from Ross from last year.
When I’m protecting my contact covered pupils from the sun using shades, I’m rocking these cute glasses. They make me feel beautiful and smart!
Which pair of sunglasses do you all think that I bought?
How do you like the way I styled this jumpsuit?
Do you have any tips, suggestions, or advice for a first time bridesmaid?
What did you all think of the Democratic Presidsntial Debate?
Can’t wait to hear from you!
Until next time,
-Nora
