Cooking With Norrawr: Thanksgiving Chess Pie

Hey everyone! I know most of you are experiencing a food coma right now. I opted to spend my day at home. I’ve been so bogged down with people that I just needed some alone time. While at home, I made a chess pie using my boss’s recipe.

Here’s the recipe that I used:

I was confident in the heels of my last cookie success. My parents didnt assist me in any way. They were at my aunts house while I was at home.

Here are the results:

It’s a little brown, but the taste is on point! I’m so proud! My dad said that it was really good and had seconds!

Who needs Pattie’s pie when you can have a chess pie??
Ill be honest, I forgot to add the milk, but the pie tastes great without it!
For future reference, I’ll add a tad bit more sugar and see how the milk enhances the recipe. Other than that, I’m pretty proud of my pie.
God has been so good to me this year. My struggles get the best of me but I don’t want to forgot to thank him for my blessings.

I’m thankful for my family. They stres me out and hurt my feelings but I know they love me. Nothing is perfect but I do my best to keep them afloat.

My dad decided to dawn my moms new wig. She quickly made him take it off.

We have good moments! I’m happy that they are still kicking!
I’m thankful for my friends. The friends that stick by me when I’m difficult. The friends that encourage me when I feel hopeless. The friends that compliment me when I feel insecure. I’m thankful for the good times and the bad. This year was rough. A few friendships ended and it really hurt me. I’m thankful for the lessons that I learned from the demise of these relationships. I came out a stronger woman. I know where I can improve . Mainly, I learned to stop settling for less than I deserve in all aspects of life. God made room for deeper, more authentic relationships and I’m appreciative for that. I have friends that see the greatness in me when I am not the best.
I’m thankful for employment. I’m thankful for shelter.
I’m thankful that people love and support me. People root for me. I didn’t realize that so many people are rooting for me to succeed!
I’m thankful for transportation, for health.
In particular, I’m thankful for my audience. Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog, follow my life, and comment. Thanks for taking time out of your lives to support my dream.
I’m thankful for my ability to breathe. Someone didn’t wake up today. I have another chance to make the world great. I have another chance to better myself. I have another chance to get it right.

For what are you thankful?
What was your favorite dish today?
Can’t wait to hear from you all!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Until next time,
-Nora (Chef Norrawr)
