New Year’s Eve Style

Hey Everyone! Hope you’ve had a lovely holiday! 2016 is upon us. 2015 was the quickest year I’ve lived through. It certainly zoomed by me. Where did all of the days go? Everyone is in a big frenzy, trying to find something to dawn to Nee Year celebrations. I am among this frenzy.

Today I stopped by Opry Mills to see what I could find. Since I’m on a budget, I stopped in Forver 21 to see what fab sequined, fun items I could try on. I was in a relaxed mood today so my outfit reflected that.

Subconsciously, I must have wanted to wear green. After seeing myself in the mirror, I realized that I was wearing predominantly green hues. Peep the mixing of the Aztec and Camo prints. If you don’t know me, know this. I am pro mixing and matching with patterns and prints.

Here’s what I tried:

Instantly I was intrigued by this dress  as I passed by it. I’m definitely satisfied with how it looks. It’s daring for me because this dress hugs my body. As a young woman, I want to embrace my curves. My goal is to be fun and flirty while staying true to my classic style. Little Black Dresses are staples for the wardrobe. The sash around my waist highlights my waistline, thus accentuating my natural curves. The neckline is enticing but doesn’t expose me too much.

Everyone liked this red, choker styled, show stopper on me but I was but sold. I felt that my breasts were screaming. I don’t want to look stuffed. This dress gave me a 60s/70s vibe.

This midi styled shinmery piece didn’t comlipment me as I though it would have. A taller person may rock this better.

My breasts always prove to be a source of issue for me when trying on tops and dresses. I HAVE to have a bra. No ifs ,ands or buts about it. This dress was not flattering with particular emphasis on my breast area.

My bra showed at the bottom and side of the cut outs. The sleeves were extremely tight. I looked like a pot belly pig!

Elegant and sophisticated accurately described how I felt in these two pieces. Still, I felt old lady-ish in this ensemble. I’m young. Why not show some skin? I almost felt as though I looked like a nun or a sister in this. was not the look I was seeking to achieve.

Don’t fret! This is not a NYE option. I just wanted to see how it would look. This dice is X-Large. Unfortunately I was unable to locate a 3x. Still, I’m a fan of the shirt dress style.

This year was plagued with depression, loss, and feelings of failure. It was a year of growth and transition. I pray that I become a better person in 2016. I want to do great things and be around wonderful people. I’m praying for love, forgiveness, and motivation. I’ve overcome the obstacles that I’ve faced. Keep your heads up! Keep being hopeful. Keep trying new things. Continue to learn, ask questions, and actively listening. Live outside of your comfort zone.
Did you like anything that I tried? What do you think I should wear? What are you wearing? Do you have any fun NYE plans? Leave a comment below! Hope to hear from you!
Until next time,
Goodbye to 2015,

  2. Hey Nyya, thanks for commenting. I've never been to Bassnecter, tell me more about it. I want to see what you are reading. You can still wear a cute top and leggings, nothing wrong with that! I did purchase the black dress. Can't wait to wear it! I hope you have fun! Happy New Year!
