So much has gone on lately! I haven’t had the time or mental clarity to post but now I’m back in it! Hope you all are doing well? Today is the 16th day of the new year. How are you all managing 2016 so far? I’ll do my best to fill in the blanks on my hiatus in the following posts. Reflection in necessary for progress. Looking back to reanalyze the past helps us focus better in the present so that we can succeed in the future. My reflection occurred on several levels, both mentally, socio-romantically, and financially. I’ll go into detail on my reflection in future posts.
A few weeks ago, Jessica and I went to Lane Bryant to shop.
Here’s what I wore to our rendevous:
Shirt: Forever 21+, Jeans: Torrid, Shoes: Payless, Duster: Cato Fashions.
Per Usual, we headed towards the clearance rack to see what deals we could grab. She found this cute jacket. It was on sale. I’m so happy that she got it! It looks good on her. I want to see her in more statement, “look at me” pieces. This is a start.
I tried the jacket on as well and loved it. The zipper detailing is cute and the color is complimentary.
When I saw this blouse months ago, it screamed “Nora”.Unfortunately, at the time, the price screamed, “you’re poor.”
It was on the clearance rack while we were there and I snatched it off of the rack. I can’t wait to wear this.
The color of this sparkly evergreen sweater is pretty. The shirt could have been bigger in my opinion. My goal is to steer clear of having my body scream for release in too tight clothing.
The draped and wrapped styles are clearly trending. This too was on sale for $20 bucks I believe. The navy color can be easily paired with various bottoms both printed, colored, and solid
Sweaters were on sale that day. I tried this one I but it was just ok. It was probably look fabulous with a bandaged skirt and heels or with harem pants.
This shirt was on sale for half off! I’ve been waiting for it to be reasonably priced before I bought it.
I’ll show you all how I’ve styled it so far in a later post.
Here’s a more focused photo of me in the jacket. This item has been heavily used so far.
Spending one on one time with friends is one of my favorite activities. I value personal interactions minus the social media and large groups. Let’s talk. let’s chill. My goal on the friendship/relationship front is to develop deeper connections with the people in my life. In 2015, I worked ok transitioning out of childish, surface level relationships. Maturity matters! Life is so much more than what you see on the surface. Last year I learned that if someone you met two years ago can be more loyal to you than someone you’v know for nearly 10 years! Who you have around you is important. You are a reflection of your friends and they are a reflection of you. We are all humans and mess up. Stop digging a hole to get through when God has a door open elsewhere.
If you friends find it hard to ask you how you’re doing or how you day was, let that friend go. If your friend refuses to share your posts, support your business and entrepreneurial endeavors, keep it moving.
On the flip side, make sure that you are a friend worth having. Make sure you are as encouraging and dedicated as you expect others to be to you. Balance is the name of the game.
God has blessed me with an awesome group of friends. I’ve got great people in my life! I hope to be just as good to them as they have been and still are to me!
Side note: I just got comfortable posting side pictures of me. I didn’t want you all to judge my small “little booty”. There it is. I’m trying to love the parts of me that I want to change but don’t need to.
What was your favorite item that I tried?
What relationship goals do you have for 2016? What lessons have you learned so far in 2016?
Can’t wait to hear from you!
Until next time,
-Nora
