Life’s Lemons

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all were able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! Gee, I have had the most emotionally trying weekend! On Friday, I had a severe migraine all day. I ended up canceling my evening plans due to the pain. My dear friend Jessica brought me medicine to make me feel better! I haven’t felt that terribly in a while. Saturday, my parents had to take their car to a mechanic because it was not running properly. The weight of the world is on me. Some days I can handle the weight. Others I am crushed. This weekend, I was crushed. We were able to get my parents car repaired. Following that, I experienced some other personal conflicts. I felt like throwing the towel in and hiding in my room for the rest of the weekend. Luckily, I decided to make lemonade out of the lemons life gave me. As a stress reliever, I went to Cato Fashions, in hopes of updating my spring wardrobe. When searching for clothing, my goal is to find transitional pieces or pieces that I can wear on different occasions. I want pieces that showcase my personality but are still functional in my professional life.

Here is what I tried:
I can style this shirt with black or grey pants and flats or heels. Dark denim would make this shirt pop as well.

$21.99 – 26/28- I have to go up in sizes due to material, my arm room, and my chest.

I loved the lace detailing around the bottom of this shirt. The simplicity is sweet. I’ll wait until it’s on sale. Like the other shirt, I had to go up a size.

I went up to a 26/28 in this as well due tightness in my arm area and chest area. I’ll wait to get this as well once it’s I sale. The next detailing and ripple pleat detailing makes this a unique piece to have.

I like a little pizzazz! Can’t you tell? Prints and patterns make my world go around! I should have gotten this. It would be great for play and work.

I didn’t expect to like this blouse so much! I should have gotten it. This can be cute with a body con skirt, slacks, flats, jeans, or even leggings.

Spring has sprung. Well, spring fashion has bloomed. I love blouses like this. I can wear skinny jeans or leggings and still look out together. My finances pushed me to let this one go. Also, half of the women in the store were picking up this blouse. I don’t want to be a copy.

Excuse my bra. I didn’t think to grab a tank. How pretty and feminine is this detailing? This top could be used as a swim suit cover as well! Talk about multipurpose! I bought it.

This hand tye dyed shirt caught my eye immediately because it’s so unique. I left it but I hope to see it again.

Regrets and mistakes are memories made-Adele

I regret the big mistake of leaving this blouse in the store. Ugh…. Maybe my crappy mood influenced my judgement! This print was dope! Total regret!

This yellow-lime color is so lovely for spring and summer! It’s fun and vibrant. Definitely something that can be taken into the workplace, church, and an evening out with the right accessories.

Hello, the 90s called. This denim jacket took me back to my youth! I had to have it! $30 bucks wasn’t a bad price either! I can’t wait to style this!

This shopping therapy session made me feel a little better. Later on that night, I went out with my friends. Unfortunatly I didn’t get any pictures with them.
I’m a transformer on the weekend.

I was able to wear my new Milani matte lip gloss, Amore. It’s a vibrant -look at me- get seduce- red. It’s sultry and alluring. Little black child, my dark skin sisters, don’t let the world make you fearful of red lipstick. Melanin is the best palette for color.

I feel like the kinks of Saturday were supposed to test me simply to see how I’d bounce back. Would I keep standing or would I give up? When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Spike it if you’d like! Tupac said it best- You gotta keep your head up!
Let me know how you liked what I tried! Definitely give Cato a try. The store carries both slim and plus sizes. How do you encourage yourself in tough times? When the winds of the world’s storm are beating you up, how do you remain positive? Being a young adult is stressful. I always feel like I’m not doing enough. I feel so stuck. I want to breakaway (Kelly Clarkson reference) but I don’t know how. I’ll keep you posted on how I save my sinking ship. #adultchronicles #adulting #beingahuman #lifecanbetough
Until next time,
