Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you all are doing well! The weekend surely flies by quickly! While this weekend had several ups and downs, I really enjoyed the second annual Nash Bash hosted by Project 615. A majority of the proceeds from the event went to a charity organization called Blood:Water. Visit both group’s websites to gain more information about their missions.
This weekend was nothing short of absolutely beautiful. The weather was wonderful. Jessica and I went to the bash to sample the food trucks and to shop.
While out, I had the pleasure of meeting Adrianna Madison, owner of MOD eyewear.
Eyeglasses are my thing! I rock all kinds of shades. If you scroll through my previous posts, you’ll see my prescription black, studded, cat eye glasses as well as various other crazily styled glasses. Why not protect your eyes from the sun in style? Glasses are a fun way to display your personality. Instantly, I fell in love with Adrianna’s collection. She and her mom were extremely sweet! Adrianna makes glasses for both men and women.
Here’s what I tried:
I call these grandpa glasses because the remind me of glasses that people wore in the 60s and 70s. My granny had a pair like these that were prescription glasses. I purchased these.
How unique and futuristic are these?? I hope to buy them another time.
How fly are these circular double rimmed shades? I purchased these as well.
She had some pairs, 2 for $25 and other 2 for $35.
I want the red glasses and the clear ones on the Tiffany blue box. The packaging of the product is awesome! She gets an A from me across the board!
I was extremely excited to see not only a black owned business but also a business owned by a woman. I am excited to see Adrianna’s business develop! Representation is important. If you have a dream of owning your business and are looking for a sign to step out on faith, take this as your sign. She is doing it, you can as well!
Check her out on Instagram.
We enjoyed the sliders from this food truck!
Jessica loved the jewelry from this cute shop. All of the pieces are handmade.
Check them out!
Make sure you check the events section on Facebook. I discovered this event and several others by visiting that tab. If you and your friends, partner, or family are looking for fun activities, you may be able to come across cool events like this Nash Bash!
I’m happy to get out and smell the roses. I’ve been quite stressed out with life lately. It was nice to spend the weekend with friends. Daniel had his senior music composition recital at MTSU on Saturday. I enjoyed listening to his work and seeing him being honored for his greatness!! I learned this past week that I need to step back and enjoy the present. I have to stand up for myself. I have to take time to enjoy life. Lately, I haven’t been extremely happy with certain aspects of my life.
I just want to enjoy the present. I’m still planning for the future but I am on auto pilot. I please everyone else but myself.
It was nice to treat myself to something nice. It’s never too late to start something new. Change is always acceptable. Don’t remain stagnant.
Which shades were your favorite?
How did you spend your weekend?
If you happen to purchase any glasses from Adrianna, drop a picture of you in them in my comment section!
Until next time,
-Nora
