Happy Hump Day Everyone! I hope that you are just as excited about the weekend as I am. This MacBook Pro is the best investment I’ve made in a long time! It brings joy to my heart to be able to type out my feelings again. Ok, Ok, I’m really happy about being able to play sims and watch youtube on a bigger screen. Two Saturdays ago, My friend Jaria had a Farewell Party to celebrate her leaving for the navy. Her mom and sister gathered her closest friends to celebrate her accomplishment. It was an honor to be apart of the celebration.
*cues Boys II Men* It’s so hard to say goodbye, to yesterday.
Jaria spent a year trying to achieve the weight goal that the navy had set for her entrance. She changed her eating habits and dedicated her time to fitness so that she could meet the entry weight requirement. She set her mind to her dream and achieved the weight goal! The journey to your destination, to your dreams, and to happiness is never easy but is always full of character building lessons. Jaria really inspired me because didn’t take the road already traveled. Coming from a family of dentists, she made the tough decision to break the mold. She realized that she wanted to work with animals. I believe that she said that she said she ultimately wants to be a marine biologist. She inspires me to fight for my dreams. You can not live your life pleasing everyone but yourself! I’m so excited to see where life takes her. She’s making her own footprints in this world. I respect her so much and wish her much success while she is away.

I’m a sucker for a floor length mirror!
My makeup skills are strengthening! I am proud of that. I practiced a smokey eye and soft pink ombre lip.
Seeing Jaria make the first step towards her goals made me realize that I need to work harder at achieving mine. I enjoy music and singing. I enjoy fashion and makeup. I also enjoy sociology.
For some time now, I’ve thought about getting into broadcast journalism. I can see myself covering the Essence Festival, having a radio show, acting or even performing one day. I’m trying to figure out how to take the next steps to achieving.
Don’t feel like you can’t start over. You are blessed with one life. Live it to the fullest. My hope is that I look back at 75 and am extremely pleased with the way I spent my time.
This is for everyone that needs motivation to do better. Do Better. Don’t let the fear of failure keep you trapped in a mundane life. Also, if you see me slipping, check me. Don’t let me forget my goals.
I definitely see school in my future.
